Global Tunikara Sdn Bhd at Transfer of Technology (TOT) Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) 2025

🌱Three words best captured the essence of Transfer of Technology (TOT) Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) 2025 this year — Research, Opportunity and Collaboration. It was more than just an event; it was a testament to how Malaysia’s palm oil sector is embracing change, resilience and innovation in the face of global challenges.

🚀 Event Launch
In his keynote, YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister of Plantation and Commodities, emphasized the increasing volatility of global trade. The ripple effects of geopolitical conflict have driven logistics costs up by 3 to 4 times, underscoring the urgent need for supply chain resilience.

He also addressed the growing regulatory pressures from international markets — particularly the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which prohibits any deforestation post-2020 for oil palm imports. With no more land expansion on the table, yield optimization is no longer an option — it’s a necessity.

This is where MPOB plays a pivotal role through advanced R&D, improved seed varieties and precision agronomy to ensure we do more with less. These innovations are key to sustaining Malaysia’s global competitiveness in the palm oil industry.

The event was also attended by YB Datuk Foong Hin Chan, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha (HOB), Chairman of MPOB and Datuk Dr. Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir, Director-General of MPOB

🌿 Talk on ESG in Oil Palm Supply Chain
We were honoured to collaborate with Phosphate Resources Malaysia (PRM) for a special ESG-focused session. Our Managing Director, Ts. R. Puvaneswari delivered a special speech on ESG in the Oil Palm Supply Chain, reinforcing the need to bring MSMEs into the ESG conversation, given they make up 97% of all businesses and are integral to our agricultural ecosystem.

During the same session, PRM proudly launched its co-developed product with MPOB—F6 Enhanced Fertilizer, designed to improve soil fertility in alignment with sustainable farming practices. A great example of public-private synergy driving real-world impact.

👏 Congratulations to MPOB, PRM and all collaborators for curating an event that was not just about the transfer of technology, but the transfer of purpose and shared responsibility in shaping a sustainable, competitive future for Malaysian agriculture.

🌟 Together, let’s cultivate impact.
