Our second day at the Malaysia Pavilion was filled with meaningful discussions and knowledge-sharing among industry leaders, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainability and climate action.
The day began with an insightful Keynote Address by Mr. Ahmad Farid Mohammed, Undersecretary – Climate Change Division, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Malaysia. His remarks set the tone for the day, underscoring Malaysia’s commitment to climate resilience and sustainable growth.
The momentum continued with a highly engaging panel discussion on Carbon Market Futures, titled “Designing Credible, Transparent and Inclusive Carbon Market Ecosystems.” The session explored key aspects such as market readiness, regulation, MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) systems, and the role of global collaboration in shaping robust carbon markets.
The discussion was moderated by Mr. Saiful Adib Abdul Munaff, Acting Group CEO of Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation, and featured distinguished panelists:
- Mr. Ahmad Farid Mohammed (NRES, Malaysia)
- Mr. Tomoo Machiba, Managing Director, Zeroboard Research Institute
- Mr. Norihiro Kimura, Senior Negotiator for Climate Change, Global Environmental Affairs Office, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan
Adding to the day’s highlights was our very own Pocket Talk 3, where our Managing Director, Ts. R. Puva, delivered a session titled “Introducing Global Tunikara: Driving Green Innovation from Malaysia to the World.” This session spotlighted our vision of positioning Malaysia as a hub for sustainable solutions, while contributing innovative approaches to the global climate agenda.
Day Two truly reflected the spirit of the Expo — creating a platform where ideas, expertise, and partnerships converge to shape a more sustainable future.
