Global Tunikara at 6th Engineering Research Symposium (EUReS), University of Wollongong (UoW) Malaysia

We are proud to be part of the 6th Engineering Research Symposium (EUReS) hosted by University of Wollongong Malaysia, a meaningful platform where academia, industry, government, and community unite to explore sustainable development through engineering excellence.

Before the forum commenced, we had the honor of witnessing the launch of the UOW Malaysia Sustainability Living Lab (SLL), an inspiring initiative that transforms sustainability ambitions into real-world impact. As a dynamic platform, the SLL integrates sustainability into all facets of campus life through hands-on projects, cutting-edge research, and active community engagement. Rooted in environmental stewardship, innovation, and collaboration, the SLL serves as a living testbed for sustainable practices.

Besides, our General Manager, Mr. Marikan Othman, was one of the distinguished panelists in the featured forum:

“Sustainability is Action: The Role of Living Labs”

The forum brought together a remarkable line-up of voices from diverse sectors:
🔸 Prof. Dr. Sothess Somasundram – Academia, UOW Malaysia
🔸 Ir.Kumaresan Magaswaran – Government, MRANTI
🔸 Mr. Marikan Othman – Industry, Global Tunikara Sdn Bhd
🔸 Mr. Michael Golub – Community, The Sea Monkey Project

Together, they shared perspectives on how Living Labs can bridge the gap between policy, research, and action, which creating real impact through innovation, collaboration, and grassroots empowerment.

Kudos to UOW Malaysia for spearheading this impactful initiative and for making sustainability a shared responsibility that extends beyond the classroom.

Let’s keep the momentum going because sustainability isn’t just a goal,
it’s an action we must take together. 🌏
